Sustaining Dunbar has developed a local map making facility, initially so it could access environmental data and maps to help develop a Local Resilience Action Plan.

Groups in the Dunbar and District Ward are welcome to use it.

On this site, you will get a quick view of how the facility works along with some howtos.

We have access to a number of useful datasets, and can show you how to view and query them.

We have a handful of programs, including some that are fairly easy to use.

We have used Map Maker Pro, which is quite powerful, to create new maps.  It is quite easy to get started, but making new maps with nice looking keys is involved and requires discipline.

We can also help you get started with online mapping tools.  These are improving and changing on almost a daily basis.
